Welcome to the Cellar!

Revolution Wines' is the only fully operational winery within the City of Sacramento. We receive grapes, crush and ferment, bottle and offer tastings to the public all in a single facility.  Revolution also has an onsite bistro that pairs food and wine daily.  No other winery does this regionally, and only a handful of wineries that do this anywhere in the U.S.

The Winemaker, Craig Haarmeyer,  and his staff take great pride in what we are producing. We believe that in winemaking there should be as little interference from us as winemakers as possible in order to let the vineyard speak to us. Some of the things that stand in the way of this are high alcohol, high residual sugars, added tannin, pigments and concentrates and the practice of over-oaking.

"We work closely with our vineyard managers from the best vineyards using only the highest quality fruit.  We pick at lower degrees Brix with high natural acidity, ferment our wines dry and mature them in nearly 90% neutral oak barrels in order to produce complex, food friendly wines."

"Our Zinfandel program has been around for almost a decade and relies on one particular block in a time tested old vineyard in Sutter Creek: Aparicio Vineyards. This fruit is harvested in the 23-24.5 Brix range depending on ripeness, is fermented bone-dry and sees no new oak. This produces a wine that is lighter in body, lower in alcohol and not as influenced by oak as most other Amador County Zinfandels."

"We also have an extensive Chardonnay program for a winery our size. Using several different treatments and aging regiments we have the ability to fine tune three or four different blends each vintage from a crisp, stainless, non-ML blend to a barrel fermented 100% ML reserve wine."

Mainly self-taught, Craig has earned high alcolades from Many well known restauranteurs, somaliers, and growers.   He takes particular pride in our Chenin Blanc and Aparicio ZInfandel (not to take away from all the other fabulous wines).
